Voice of People

A spelling/tag variant of Kyle’s essay-in-progress, Voice of the People — the canonical page. It arose from a single Voice of People hashtag in The Death of Expertise, where Kyle ties Tomasenz/Orwell’s “Thought Police” and “thought criminal” from 1984 to the dynamic in which the voice of the people, once it begins to govern, “focus[es] on resorting to the mean and eradicating any voices that fail to conform.” The substantive idea — democratic-electorate epistemology, the tension between an informed electorate and mob conformity — lives on the Voice of the People page, which the same book tags 5+ times as the through-line of that read.
