There Is No Antimemetics Division

Why it’s on the list: qntm’s novel about ideas that erase themselves from memory — and the agency whose job is to fight what it cannot remember fighting.

Where I heard about it

• Spotted at Powell’s Books at PDX — September 2026 (Books photo album)

• Lenny Rachitsky (@lennysan) — on X, February 2026: “Such good page turning sci-fi, thanks for the tip @sherwinwu.”

• qntm — the author’s own post announcing signed copies of the new edition at Goldsboro Books in London, November 2025.

About this edition

It grew out of qntm’s SCP Foundation serial, was compiled as a novel in 2020, and was substantially revised for a Del Rey edition in November 2025.

Connections

• Antimemetics — Nadia Asparouhova’s non-fiction book on the same idea; the pair is the fiction/non-fiction version of one question.
• Memetics — the field this inverts: why some ideas refuse to spread or stick.
• Science Fiction
• Lenny Rachitsky — the recommender.
