Rome
Referenced once, as the seat of power held by Marcus Aurelius. In The Almanack of Naval Ravikant, Naval Ravikant calls Meditations “absolutely life-changing,” describing Marcus Aurelius as “the emperor of Rome” and “probably the most powerful human being on Earth at the time he lived” — the point being that even Rome’s most powerful man still struggled internally, showing that success and power don’t by themselves improve one’s internal state.
