Naval Ravikant cites a Osho lecture, “The Attraction for Drugs Is Spiritual,” on why people use drugs and alcohol to control their mental state, and quotes him on meaning: “It’s like writing on water or building houses of sand.” Naval calls Osho one of his favorite philosophers (alongside Jiddu Krishnamurti) and recommends Osho’s The Book of Secrets as a meditation-technique primer, adding: “I know he’s gotten a bad rap recently, but he was a pretty smart guy.”
