TL;DR — The actual USUHS-authored SEAL fitness manual — exercise physiology, not motivational content.

Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences, Department of Military and Emergency Medicine, August 1997.

Despite the title’s associations, this is a sports-medicine textbook: energy systems, periodisation, load management, nutrition, heat and cold injury, and the specific physiology of swimming and load-bearing marches.

Written by physicians for a population that cannot afford a training injury. Free, evidence-based, and far more rigorous than the commercial fitness literature that borrows its name.
