Shaan Puri (@ShaanVP) is an entrepreneur and writer on X whose saved threads are mostly about writing and building an audience. By his own account in one thread he has built “500k+ followers & 100M+ downloads”.

• On writing. Seven tips: open with a “curiosity gap” so line one gets you to line two, practice copywork by handwriting writing you admire, write like you talk, drop school habits (simple words, shorter is better), use WHAT / WHY / SO WHAT inside a company, aim to transfer emotion rather than information, and practice.
• On audience. Nine lessons for creators in 2024, including that who follows matters more than how many (“known well”, not “well known”), the “5 D’s” (Done, Deliver, Do, Dreams, Dork Out), a “binge bank” of content, and the “rule of 100” reps. See Building a Following.
• On reflection. A 2024 post about a note he wrote seven years earlier, “What I want out of life”, concluding that nothing he wants has really changed.
