Schematic Storyboarding for Video Visualization and Editing
TL;DR — A SIGGRAPH 2006 paper that turns a video clip into one static storyboard image, with arrows and outlines showing the motion.
From the University of Washington and Adobe. The system builds a single schematic storyboard from several frames of a shot, annotated in the visual language storyboard artists use, so a clip can be understood at a glance while keeping its detail. The first figure compares the output with a professional artist’s hand-drawn board of the same shot from Charade (1963).
What it is: a peer-reviewed graphics paper (SIGGRAPH 2006).
