Roger L. Martin
Roger L. Martin
Roger L. Martin is the co-author, with A.G. Lafley, of Playing To Win. In that book’s framing he is “the strategy theorist behind the where-to-play / how-to-win framework” — the academic counterpart to Lafley, the P&G CEO whose practice the book documents. The collaboration pairs Martin’s strategy theory with Lafley’s operating experience, casting strategy as a set of integrated, cascading choices (winning aspiration, where to play, how to win, capabilities, management systems).
Context: Roger L. Martin is a Canadian strategy scholar, former dean of the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto, and a longtime collaborator and adviser to P&G; he is widely known for his work on integrative thinking and corporate strategy.
