Prometheus Rising

Robert Anton Wilson 1983 View original ↗

TL;DR — Wilson’s guide to reprogramming your own nervous system, built on Leary’s eight-circuit model.

New Falcon Publications, introduced by Israel Regardie.

Wilson’s central device is in chapter one: The Thinker and The Prover — whatever the Thinker thinks, the Prover proves. The book then works through Timothy Leary’s eight-circuit model of consciousness as a framework for noticing and altering one’s own conditioning, with exercises at the end of each chapter.

Deliberately unfalsifiable and openly so — Wilson’s position is agnosticism about all models, including his own. Read as a manual for loosening certainty rather than as psychology.
