Project Backboard — Court Renovation Guide

TL;DR — A practical guide to resurfacing a public basketball court and commissioning artwork on it.

Project Backboard’s mission, stated on page one: “to ensure that all communities have access to a safe and inviting place to play outdoor basketball,” by collaborating with local artists to install large-scale murals on court surfaces.

The guide is the useful part — how to actually do it: assessing a surface, working with a parks department, materials, artist selection, cost.

A genuinely replicable civic-improvement playbook, which is rarer than the idea.
