Why it’s on the list: NASA’s own manual for designing, testing and managing systems that are not allowed to fail — the agency’s codified process for spacecraft-grade engineering.
Where I saw it: Recommended twice by @oprydai on X — October 5, 2025 (“this book is a masterclass in designing complex systems that work; from spacecraft to large-scale engineering projects”) and August 27, 2025 (“it walks you through designing, testing, and managing projects that actually have to work”). Not a trade book: Rev 2 is a free NASA publication (NASA/SP-2016-6105), downloadable as a 297-page PDF from NASA’s own site.
