Look It Up

“Look It Up” is one of Kyle’s reading-annotation conventions rather than a subject in its own right: he tags a highlight with #look-it-up (or a > **Kyle:** Look it up note) to flag a person, study, source, or claim he wants to chase down later. It recurs across three book pages. In The Self-Driven Child he applies it to specific sources worth tracking — Lori Gottlieb’s Atlantic article on too-attuned parents, and a researcher’s “test of adultness.” In Poor Charlie’s Almanack he attaches it to Charlie Munger’s references to “a rule of psychology” and the mental-models repertoire he wants to pin down. In the Berkshire Hathaway Annual Letters he flags John Medlin’s “chain letter in reverse” line about value-destroying acquisitions. The common thread: a deliberate to-do marker for follow-up research, a personal counterpart to the wiki’s articles-to-read / books-to-read queues embedded directly in the highlights.
