Ccru Writings 1997–2003
TL;DR — The collected output of Warwick’s Cybernetic Culture Research Unit — Nick Land, theory-fiction, accelerationism’s origin.
Time Spiral Press, 2015. “This volume gathers together finished texts written under the Ccru name.”
The Cybernetic Culture Research Unit operated semi-officially at the University of Warwick in the late 1990s around Sadie Plant and Nick Land, producing collaborative theory-fiction — numerology, occulture, invented mythologies and cybernetic philosophy written under collective and fictional names.
Culturally load-bearing out of all proportion to its size. Accelerationism, much of the 2010s online philosophy scene, and a good deal of contemporary internet aesthetics run back through it. Deliberately difficult, and deliberately unattributable.
