Ted Turner’s memoir of taking over his father’s outdoor-advertising business at 24 and turning it into Turner Broadcasting — the WTBS superstation, CNN, TNT, the Atlanta Braves, and eventually the Time Warner merger that cost him most of his fortune and his operating control. Turner’s own narration is interleaved with short first-person “voices” from family, executives and rivals, so the book doubles as an oral history of the company.
Why it’s on the list: Bold on @mastersinvest’s 2025 list, meaning the curator rated it very good rather than merely read.
Where I saw it: @mastersinvest’s “2025 Reading … so far” list, August 20, 2025, where it appears in bold. The full 46-title list is transcribed on 2025 Reading So Far… (tweet).
