(Kyle’s Roam “Deep Dives” page spelled this Adventia — that’s a typo for Adevinta, the online-classifieds company. The bare-name alias resolves the original wikilink.)

Adevinta shows up in Kyle’s E-Commerce / Unbundling research as the acquirer on the other side of eBay’s classifieds exit. In the Deep Dives “Bundling and Unbundling” bucket, Kyle noted “eBay selling classifieds business to Adevinta” — a marquee example of a general-purpose marketplace shedding a vertical.

Context: Adevinta is a Norwegian online-classifieds group (spun out of Schibsted in 2019). In July 2020 it agreed to acquire eBay’s Classifieds Group for $9.2 billion — $2.5B cash plus ~540M Adevinta shares — a deal (closed 2021) that made it the world’s largest online-classifieds company. It runs marketplaces such as Leboncoin, mobile.de, and Kijiji, and was itself taken private by Permira and Blackstone in 2024.
