A Guide to the Layout of a Talmud Page

TL;DR — A two-page annotated diagram of a Talmud page: Mishnah and Gemara in the centre, Rashi and Tosafot around them, centuries of commentary on one sheet.

Labels every part of a standard Vilna-layout page: tractate name, chapter number and name, the central text, Rashi’s eleventh-century commentary and the medieval Tosafot (“additions”) around it, and the cross-references in the margins.

What it is: a teaching handout. The Talmud page is often cited as an early hypertext, centuries of commentary arranged around one text, which links it to the wiki’s own design.

2 pages. A copy is archived locally against link rot; the header links the original source.
