About this edition

Published in 1985 and a number-two New York Times best seller, it continues Heretics of Dune directly. Herbert died in February 1986 with the sequence unfinished, so the book ends on threads he never resolved — worth knowing before starting that it is a middle, not an end, which is why the Dune shelf later filled with other people’s continuations.
